Nice eye. Very good photos.
We were scheduled to visit PC this summer, then I fell ill and couldn't make it. Next time, I hope.

Thanks Vanilla. PC is a nice park for as few amenities as there are.

there is a delicate balance between when a park is a recreation facility/nature preserve. I am not sure I would say PC is lacking amenities. I would suggest that perhaps more walking trails would be needed but with regard to Lodges/pools/playgrounds etc I think the park is sufficiently developed....of course when the Governor proposes that we lease them out so they can be "run like a business" there will be all kinds of money making proposals made for the parks. Imagine it Potato Creek a "Anheuser Busch property" or Potato Creek a "Phillip Morris property" or Lucas Oil Playground at Potato Creek??????????????? Wingman

Yes-it is a delicate balance, although I would be in favor of a small lodge at PC to generate funds that should go into improving the park...nature center is a bit dated! I am fearful of a GOP controlled legislature in 2010 giving Mitch ultimate reign-that could spell disaster for the state parks. He made comments about privatizing before he was governor, but I'm sure would prefer to not take on that firestorm until his last 2 years.

well I have often wondered why the nature center is so neglected! Certainly the naturalist could come up with some improvement plan and get the park volunteers to get some of the projects completed...with a couple of nice older ladies at the gate I rarely see anyone actually accomplishing something at the park and I go there often!
